“I’m tired of these games!” King Keith shouted. “This dragon has destroyed my kingdom and tore my military apart.”

“But your majesty,” Jack replied, “We need every bit of help possible, and the Colonel just resigned! Now what?”

“I’m going to find that monster,” Keith said, “…and teach him a thing or two. It’s time Subeta sees the true power of its king!”

As Keith stormed off to find Advarsel, Blake spoke.

“I need to find Colonel Awesome, he shouldn’t be too far.”

“You go do that, Blake, for all I know, Keith may be in trouble.”

They nodded at each other and raced off to find the superpowers. It didn’t take more than an hour to find Colonel Awesome, radioing his regiment.

“Sir,” Blake begged, “Must you fight with the king now? We need you guys to work together!”

“There will be no working together,” Colonel Awesome replied. “The Armada and I are leaving Subeta and we’re not telling anyone where. That stubborn brat can rule without me interfering now.”

The ground shook beneath them, and there was Advarsel, gazing down at them.

“You two,” Advarsel spoke, “WHERE IS YOUR LEADER?”

“WHAT?” Blake shouted. “Advarsel can speak to humans?!”

“Right here,” Keith interjected, wand out. “I’ve had it with you destroying my home. For that, I’m going to destroy you!”

The sky turned to darkness as Keith’s eyes turned into a hue of saffron. His wand and hand began to cast as spell as Blake and Jack (who finally found Keith) stared in excitement. The spell grew more powerful by the second. Now an electrical sphere, more than 50 feet in diameter, was in Keith’s control.

“Oooh, a fireworks show,” Colonel Awesome said.

“SAFFRON SURGE!” Keith shouted, as a blast of electricity was thrown at Advarsel. The dragon disappeared within the yellow haze. As the light faded, Advarsel reappeared.

“IS THAT ALL YOU’VE GOT, YOUR MAJESTY?” Advarsel laughed as he grabbed Keith and held him in front of his face, “I don’t know if you have noticed, but my powers surpass the gods. There is no way you can kill me with your magic and cute little costume.”

“What …do you want from …us?” Keith asked.

“Make me the king and deity of Subeta,” Advarsel replied. “If you stop wasting my time, I may not kill you. Refuse now, and I WILL kill you.”

“Sir!” Jack shouted to Colonel Awesome, “You have to help him! Keith’s in trouble.”

“Actually,” Colonel Awesome said, “Let them keep going. Let’s see if Keith really as strong as he says he is.”

“Well…” Advarsel spoke again, waiting for Keith’s reply.

“Kill me if you want, you’re not taking Subeta. Over my dead body.” Keith said.

Colonel Awesome saw the regiment approach.

“Attack the monster now!” he ordered.

The aircraft starting firing at Advarsel. The dragon lost grip of Keith as he turned and was thrown through an open window. Luckily, he landed on a bed in one room, scaring the inhabitants inside.

“Sorry guys,” Keith told them.

As missiles were being fired at Advarsel, Colonel Awesome looked up at the attack in frustration. “This isn’t working! Retreat, retreat!” Colonel Awesome ordered.

Advarsel growled at them and backed away. “I’M GOING TO FIND YOUR GODDESS AND TAKE HER OUT FIRST. MAYBE YOU’LL BE LESS RESISTANT AFTER SHE’S DEAD. I’LL BE BACK FOR YOU LATER!”

He shot up into the sky and disappeared.

“He must be going to the Sacred Lands to challenge Shinwa. If Shinwa dies, Subeta’s magical source does as-“

He received a transmission and turned to Blake.

“You know those destroyed tablets you found? My team finally put the pieces together, but they can’t make out the final portion of the text.”

“…But I can,” smiled Blake. “Why?”

“Apparently,” Colonel Awesome said, “the Krypts are linked to Advarsel.”

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Does anyone really understand Keith’s proposed changes to the Holiday shop? I… just… another form of currency, but one that gets deleted at the end of each holiday and doesn’t carry over? What’s the point? What’s wrong with just restocking as it is now; the majority of worthwhile items are already in holiday specific shops as it is, so people aren’t really missing much. I’m very confused and I have a faintly ominous feeling it’s just going to be implemented anyway, despite everyone else not really being on-board with it, either.

Just a FYI - Quests will never really be a sP sink since it usually involves buying the items from other users. That’s not removing sP from the economy.

How Quentin works is currently based on rarity of the items (so when new items are added to Quentin you still have an idea of how hard it will be to get them via the quest). There will be new items adding during October, so we can see how that works out :)

Hello all,

Some of you may already know me from LeakyCon. I unexpectedly became a volunteer last year at LeakyCon 2011, after a major debacle resulting in insane registration lines. I worked hard to keep people happy, deal with frustrated attendees, parents/chaperones, etc. In 2012 I was…

Essentially, what this comes down to, is another massive blow to the Leaky brand. Leakycon ist the only conference I’ve walked away from multiple times where people had so many things to complain about. I think that if it weren’t for the awesome people who attend, it’d be a lot more negative.

This all could have been easily avoided with a contract. Melissa has said that because there was no money involved in Leakynews, that there wasn’t a contract in place when it started, but that is a terrible idea. Every single company should start with a contract in place between founders (and employees after that!) regardless of how much money the company is making (or not making).

I think that we will see this play out, but the only thing I can say is that I’m sure the people at hypable are laughing.

I stopped following it for a long time because it got to a point where they just reblogged art, art, and more art. Stuff that I already see by tracking the Subeta tag. It got repetitive and…

1. Reblogging from the Subeta tag means that people who don’t follow the Subeta tag but do follow the Subeta tumblr get a chance to see that stuff. Notice how when something gets reblogged by Subeta suddenly it gets 20-100 more likes? Everyone doesn’t track #subeta.

2. Everytime there is original anything anywhere but on the site there are a thousand complaints. We’re still going to continue doing it, but just keep that in mind.

I especially love how the subeta economy is being crashed on purpose, quests are giving out significantly less than they used to, and ask for items that are just too pricey to even complete the quest. Why do I want to burn through 40 wizard quests and 30 sagittarius quests with more often than…

It’s not being crashed on purpose.

Let me try and clear a few things up.

All quests are going to be eventually changed. The whole scheme of the change will hopefully make more sense once this happens. Right now a single quest (quentin) has been changed.

A lot of people who are frequently discussing the removal of sP from Quentin did not frequently do the quests prior to the change (most of them are achievement users who did the amount required for the top achievement, and then stopped) so while I understand the outrage at the change, a lot of these are from people who did not do them.

Quentin was one of the most infrequently done quests (something like 70% of quests done daily are, of course, wizard quests) and so a change was needed.

Our goal going forward is to give each quest something unique to ask for (Quentin is now an awesome way for you to save up those thousands of event items you get, put them in your vault and wait for them to start being asked for) and something unique to give back. We removed the items from the graveyard shop and instead gave them to Quentin. Obviously right now that isn’t very fun, because you are getting items that have been on the site for years and have deflated (or are useless). We have plans (especially in Morostide) to really beef up that pool of items with interesting things that we think people will really like, and will make it worth it to do the quests.

This is our goal for all of the quests. Let me be very clear, I hate the idea that people feel like they have to buy CSC to earn sP. Neopets took a different path than us (you can’t trade credits) but I wanted CSC to be available for everyone and something that anyone could get by just playing Subeta. Most of our features don’t require CSC, just ‘account upgrades’ and some cool items in the cash shop (Which we’ve released less of this year than ever).

Also fyi I hate zynga with every fiber of my being. If we are becoming like them in anyones eyes that is the absolute opposite of my goal which is to create a place that is the most fair that it could possibly be on the internets.

Again, I really hope that things start to make more sense once more quests are pushed out with their changes.

They’re goddess is white because she doesn’t come from Subeta. Same with the Wizard, neither of them are from there! Lots of ‘powerful’ people seem to migrate there, though :).
